Pavers in Tucson

DRIVEWAY PAVERS

A growing number of Tucson homeowners are turning to driveway paving stones over traditional surfaces like asphalt, concrete and gravel for both new and replacement driveways. The reason is that paving stones provide several key advantages for those living in the area. Driveway pavers are available in a wide selection of shapes, colors, and sizes which allows for a great degree of design creativity to complement Tucson, AZ homes and landscapes. They are also extremely durable, generally lasting for the lifetime of the driveway. Unlike poured concrete or asphalt surfaces that are difficult to repair when damage occurs, driveway paving stones are individually replaced should one or more become damaged. Also, paving stones can be driven on immediately after installation while poured concrete and asphalt require a “curing” period.

Driveway pavers can be more expensive than traditional options. However, the end results and benefits of using paving stones make them well worth the additional cost. Santa Rita Landscaping offers the following manufactured driveway paving stones for Tucson homeowners that are just as gorgeous and durable as real stone only with various additional advantages.

PAVING STONES

Many people like to use paving stones when they have pavers come out to do work on their landscaping or driveways. FAQ ABOUT OUR PAVERS FINISHED RESULTS

If you’re a new homeowner, or never had pavers in Tucson lay bricks for your patio or driveway, you may have some questions. To have a better understanding of what to do after the job is done to maintain or change the appearance of it later on, take a look at our FAQ below.

How to Maintain a Paved Patio Clean

After our pavers in Tucson and Phoenix create a beautiful patio for you and your family to enjoy you may wonder how to keep it clean. One great way to keep it clean is by taking a broom or even a leaf blower to go over the paved patio with. Below is a set of steps you can follow to clean your paved patio as well.

  • Wet down the patio and spray your choice of cleaning products
  • Let the cleaning solutions soak in for a few minutes
  • Grab a broom to go over the patio with light scrubbing. Stay away from using wire brushes or anything that can cause scratching.
  • Rinse the entire patio with a hose, then let it dry out.
Do the Bricks Move After Pavers Install Them?

Over time the bricks can move, this is why our pavers in Tucson add a solid edge to the patio or driveway. A lip can be added using cement, plastic, or metal edging. We’ll spread fine sand over the patio or driveway. Then it will be swept into the crack to help hold them all in place. In some cases, we can use polymeric sand for better longevity.

I would like to commend the folks at Santa Rita Landscaping for a job well done installing our new landscape design — which was previously a patch of dirt that came with the house when we purchased it eighteen months ago. The design was created by their in-house design team who responded to our wish-list, along with their intimate knowledge of which plants would survive and/or thrive in our desert climate. The final design called for paved walkways and seating areas, a water feature, a turf area, and generous plantings with rich textures and colors. The installation was led by Enrique who, along with his crew, executed the design with precision, efficiency, and thoroughness. Enrique proved to be very knowledgeable and quite skilled at laying the pavers, building the water feature, and installing the plantings and irrigation. While working in Arizona’s extreme June heat, they completed the job in a timely manner, accommodating our personal design “tweaks” and maintained a cheerful and courteous demeanor. Keone, the project manager, was also very responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the buildout and resolved all issues quickly. We would be pleased to recommend Santa Rita Landscaping to anyone interested in a quality landscape installation project.

So I live out in the Saguaro Blooms Area. We pay alot for our HOA to cover our landscaping. This morning I saw 2 landscaper at our Club house doing a great job at our club house. When I talked to the landscapers they were nice and professional. Hopefully they will become the new landscape company for us.

My driveway was over 25 yrs old and the asphalt was coming apart. Not only was it unsightly but dirt was regularly tracked into the house. There was also an issue of drainage after rains which often backed up on my carport and drained into my neighbors yard. After consulting with several contractors considering both concrete and paver options, we chose Santa Rita Landscaping. The price for the pavers was only about $2000 more than concrete and provided a much more aesthetic look that matched our adobe block house. In addition, Ryan was the only one who offered a solution to the drainage problem which was to install a small drain in the tree swale and route the water via a 4 inch pipe to a lower point in my backyard which could water trees with the excess water. The workers did a great job in all stages of removal of the old asphalt, configuring the elevation so water would drain gently to a particular point, and carefully installing AB sand/gravel underlayment, then sand, then the pavers and finally a coat of fine sand between the pavers. I am very pleased with both the appearance of the finished product and its functionality. Many people have commented on how attractive and well done it is. the Crew was great to work with and kept me informed of progress and any issues along the way. I would highly recommend them for this type of work.

We picked Santa Rita Landscaping after reviewing many photos on the internet. What attracted us to the was their overall theme, which in many cases centered around a fountain. I have a water fountain my Dad built 57 years ago for a house he designed. I always wanted to use the fountain somehow, but never had a good idea on how to implement it.We called Santa Rita in October of 2020 and met with Jeremy. He listened to our goals, showed him our current landscape photos and outlined our budget. He had some good ideas and we agreed to move forward with a proposal from them. We met again in mid-December, which Jeremy showed us a very detailed, professional drawing of their vision for our project. After going through the plan, we made a few minor changes and signed the contract. We also signed a contract for a Pergola that is handled by one of their trusted partners. They stay very busy, with work scheduled out several months. This is a sign of a good contractor IMO. We got a window for the work at the end of March 2021, which worked out well for us. A meeting was held at our house with Jeremy, Esteban (Foreman), myself and wife. We went over all details. One issue that came up several weeks before the work begun was our choice of pavers. With COVID-19 problems, tumbled pavers was near to impossible to be had. Jeremy and Kristy (the project administrator) were able to track down the correct pavers in Phoenix and have them delivered on site without additional cost to us! Outstanding. On the start date, everyone converged on our house....porta John delivery, pavers, gravel, sand, dirt, and the crew. I oversaw a worldwide engineering firm for years and the start day always amazed me to see it all come together. This was no exception...these guys are professionals! The crew lead was Jose'. This guy is amazing! He aways had our plans close to him and was able to sequence all the steps perfectly. Our job was not huge, but required 2-weeks schedule for completion. The way Jose' sequenced it, I thought it was all out of order, but by the 4th day, I saw how expertly he had it managed. I also had HVAC replacement scheduled at the same time and had wanted pavers placed for the outdoor condenser units. Jose' made sure they were installed in time for the HVAC contractor. In fact, provided a very sturdy and level base where the condensers will never have a sinking problem.Jose' placed all the pavers, including the curvy sidewalk path he made out front. Did an outstanding job! The plumber/electrician, Juan and I discussed how to power the low voltage lights as well as connect up the fountain. I really had no clue how he was going to build the fountain. He came up with a perfect solution by drilling a 1/2" hole through a rock and placing the fountain head through the hole and allowed the rock to be the base! I would have never thought of this! It was perfect! He also fixed our irrigation supply and provided the water to the fountain by connecting into the main water supply to the irrigation system. This has worked well. I use Apple Homekit smart switches made by Meross to control the fountain and the low-voltage lights.Jose' was always available to me to discuss how he thought certain things should be done and made sure I was in agreement before proceeding. Our communications was excellent and I never felt he pushed his idea on me, but rather was alway interested in making sure I was pleased with how every detail was done. This was refreshing to me. Usually one had conflicts with contractors, but not one conflict and all outstanding items were address immediately.I cannot speak highly enough on Santa Rita Landscaping! It is interesting to me that I hired CertaPro Painters to paint my exterior since all my landscaping and HVAC work is complete. Joe, the owner came out to provide a quote and remarked how nice the landscaping was. He wanted to know who done it, when I told him, he got all excited as he recently signed a contract with Santa Rita Landscaping to do landscaping at his house!
